From LoveToKnow Travel
Las Vegas entertainment for elementary aged children is plentiful. The times of Las Vegas entertainment being for “adults only” are long gone. In fact, kids are now very welcome in the city, which makes it possible for parents to feel comfortable bringing their young ones along on a vacation to Las Vegas.
Hotel Hopping
Hotel hopping is an excellent form of Las Vegas entertainment for elementary aged children. With so many fantastic theme hotels from which to choose, families can spend days just exploring what the hotels have to offer. Where else can you visit France, italy, Egypt, and New York -- all within walking distance?
When hotel hopping in Las Vegas, the first stop families with elementary aged children should make is Circus Circus. The name of this hotel says it all. It truly provides a circus experience where kids can see live shows and learn about one of the oldest forms of entertainment.
At Excalibur, the children can become a part of the magical world of Merlin and King Arthur. Be sure to reserve a spot at the medieval dinner and eat while watching the tournament. Across the street from Excalibur, families can find MGM. A quick stop here will provide children with a close up look at a lion.
Across the Las Vegas strip, the whole family can experience a fantastic rollercoaster at New York, New York. Exacilbur also awaits families, providing an amazing experience with its great Imax theatres. Afterward, families can fly away on a magic carpet ride at Aladdin’s hotel.
A quick stop at the Mirage offers an enchanting look at white tigers. Down the road, families can assist the pirates' assault and participate in the volcano activities at Treasure Island. Of course, there is always time for a stop at a game room. Every hotel has huge rooms dedicated to videogames, including all of the latest technology expected with Las Vegas entertainment.
Las Vegas Entertainment for Elementary Aged Children: Water Time
Nothing beats a good swim, especially in the summer heat. Every resort in Las Vegas has state-of-the-art water facilities, from basic swimming pools, to slides, and to running rivers. In most cases, it’s possible to rent a cabana and just hang out by the water as well.
Families that love the water should also be sure to check out Mandalay Bay. Here, a running river connects a variety of cabanas, which lead swimmers to the main pool. There is also a beach created from the natural desert and an artificial ocean. This amazing “beach” looks and feels like the real thing. For water shows, families must stop by Bellagio and enjoy the incredible water “dance,” which is accompanied by amazing music and colored by a masterminded lighting choreography.
Las Vegas Entertainment for Elementary Aged Children: Special Events
Although kids will most likely enjoy the improvised shows of magicians, dancers, and musician foung throughout the streets, some shows can also be enjoyed at the Las Vegas theaters. Families should be sure to look for animal shows, David Copperfield performances, and Disney-based shows. These forms of Las Vegas entertainment are offered quite often, so families need to be sure to keep an eye open for times. They are certainly a treat worth waiting for.
Special exhibits can also be fun for families. Exhibits of cars and toys, a wax museum at the Venetian, the Coca Cola store, and the M&M location are all places where the kids could waste away an entire day if allowed. Don’t forget to also stop by the candy shops or to watch the fireworks displays, the laser shows, and the living fountain at the Caesar’s Palace. If the kids still have energy left, they may also enjoy a stop at the Cirque de Soleil. Not all shows here are for kids, but it is worth looking into as an option for the whole family.
