If you want to stay right on the Strip in Las Vegas, but don’t want to pay a lot for accommodations, then you might want to check out the older Imperial Palace Las Vegas. This Asian-themed hotel and casino is centrally located (sandwiched between Harrah’s and The Flamingo - and across the street from Caesar’s Palace); in fact, it’s the most convenient center-Strip stop for the Las Vegas Monorail.
Autos and Legends at the Imperial Palace
With its 2700 rooms, Olympic-sized pool, Health Club, Zen-inspired Spa, and unique shows, the Imperial Palace serves as not only a convenient destination, but also an interesting one. In fact, The Auto Collections (on the 5th floor of the self-parking facility) is very popular with both car aficionados and history buffs, for it contains a very impressive collection of antique, classic, and muscle cars (most of which are for sale) – and many of the vintage cars displayed here were previously owned by celebrities (such as Howard Hughes, Wayne Newton, Johnny Carson, and Nicholas Cage). Another permanent fixture at the Imperial Palace is its renowned “Legends in Concert” stage show, which features look-alike and sound-alike performers from the past and present (these impersonators pretend to be such famous personalities as Marilyn Monroe, John Lennon, Michael Jackson, Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, Elvis, and Cher).
Dealertainer's Pit
Because of the popularity of that long-running “Legends in Concert” show, the Imperial Palace has adopted a unique link to this phenomenon, with celebrity look-alike blackjack dealers being used in “Dealertainers’ Pit” in the Casino.
Gaming
One of the reasons the Imperial Palace is popular is it offers some of the lowest stakes gaming tables on the center strip. If you are put off by the minimum bets at Bellagio, Caesars and Harrahs, you might find the blackjack tables more to your liking at the Imperial Palace Las Vegas. And, they don't mind if you take your blackjack tip card along and refer to it for your odds. Don't have a handy-dandy blackjack tip card? You can get one at nearly any Vegas gift or souvenir shop.
Shopping at Imperial Palace Las Vegas
Shops in the Imperial Palace include the Auto Collection Gift Shop (with the largest collection of automobile books in the West), the Signature Shop (for Imperial Palace and Las Vegas logo items, including shirts and hats), and the Palace Emporium (for souvenirs of Las Vegas).
Dining at Imperial Palace
Dining options range from choosing a quick bite to eat at Burger Palace, Betty’s Diner, or Pizza Palace - or fine dining at Embers (a top steakhouse) and the Ming Terrace (where you’ll discover an artful array of Mandarin and Cantonese cuisine).
