Airport Requirements for your Luggage Tag

All airlines require that the luggage you check be identified with a luggage tag, stating your name, address, and telephone number. It's also a good idea to tag your carry-on luggage, just in case you should be separated from them. For security, particularly for women, you might prefer to list your office address and telephone number instead of your home information.

Types of Tags

A luggage tag can be anything from a paper ID tag obtained at the airport check-in desk to a luxurious suede-covered tag. They come in a wide variety of materials and in all price ranges. Common materials include plastic, leather, suede, and paper. Many tour companies and travel vendors offer luggage tags to customers along with their travel documents. A nice luggage tag also makes an excellent stocking stuffer for a frequent traveler.

Shopping

Most traveler shops and places where luggage is sold carry an assortment of luggage tag styles. In addition, many companies offer them online. Many travel agents also sell travel accessories, including custom luggage tags.
